Denis Gholami Bajestani

Denis received a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Applied Sciences Aachen before starting his masters in Biomedical Engineering. His bachelor’s thesis entitled ‚Selection of Process Models for the Radial Braiding Process in terms of Self-Optimization‘ carried out at Institute of Textile Technology (ITA) of RWTH Aachen University was rewarded with the Creativity Prize 2016 of the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association VDMA Textile Machinery.
He has recently started to perform a mater’s thesis in the UCD Medical Device Design Group, supporting Fergal Coulter working on the design and fabrication of a bio-hybrid artificial pancreas in the DRIVE project.
His research interests include: Hemodynamics, Artificial Organs, Tissue Engineering, Lab/Organ on Chip Systems
