Sam Kenyon is Masters student of Biomedical Engineering in UCD. His Masters project is being supervised by Prof. Alojz Ivankovic and is being advised by Dr. Eoin O’Cearbhaill. His project is focused on Nitinol stents, and how their performance would be affected by a radiopaque coating. This is being achieved through Finite Element Analysis and computational modelling.
Sam obtained his BSc in Engineering Science from UCD where he specialised in Mechanical Engineering. During this time he spent 3 months completing an internship in Neuravi where he worked in the development of thrombectomy devices. He also completed an 8-month internship in Boston Scientific where he worked in the manufacture of Nitinol stents.
Sam’s main hobby is sport. He is a playing member of the Clontarf Rugby Club and is a follower of Formula 1 Racing.
